Curriculum Vitae (short)

 

After obtaining my PhD degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1991, I was offered a tenure-track assistant professor position in the University of California at Irvine.  I was promoted to associate professor with tenure in 1997.  In January 2000, I took up the chair professorship in Linguistics at Leiden University.
In 2005, I co-founded the Leiden Institute for Brain and Cognition (LIBC), together with Mark van Buchem and Bernhard Hommel.
